Dietitian of the Desert
Our goal is to maximize the client’s health while creating a successful weight management, wellness or sports performance program. Our custom programs start with an intake assessment that establishes a baseline or starting point as it relates to the client’s personal goals. The treatment or training program recommended will strategically address the identified weak-links. Whether a Treatment plan for the client or a Training program for the athlete, we like to collaborate with the client’s personal doctor or coach to increase the benefit to the client. Tools used during the assessment process may include one or more of the following:
Promote nutrition/wellness related services to maximize the availability and accessibility of nutrition, wellness and healthy foods community wide. Along with nutrition & physiological assessments, educational services include private consultations, workshops, classes, seminars and camps. Distance counsel utilizes HIPPA based EHR as needed. Strategies supportive to integrating nutrition services into the business setting includes health professional training, wellness programs and nutrient analysis for menus.. Professional collaboration and advocacy provides ongoing support to the development of the Morongo Basin Nutrition Coalition.
A Moxy Charter Certified Training Center
Dietitian of the Desert is a Charter Partner of Fortiori Design, the inventor of the Moxy Monitor. Fortiori works with the top training centers across the United States to help bring muscle oxygen monitoring technology to athletes.
The Moxy Monitor provides real time information about the metabolic state of the muscle and it can be used anywhere, even underwater. Athletes use muscle oxygen information to more precisely guide their training intensity and to monitor the improvements in their muscle oxidative capacity. The Moxy Sensor is the heart of the Moxy Monitor System. Its light emitting diodes and photo detectors together create the spectrometer that makes Muscle Oxygen measurement possible. Fully functional and self-contained, the Moxy Sensor has a battery for power, a microprocessor for operating the spectrometer, and a memory chip for storing data; it also has a radio transmitter for sending live data to other devices.
Moxy provides real time physiologic feedback for any sport: it is strong enough to withstand the rigors of motocross riding and rugby; it is secure enough to operate in the swimming pool; it is portable enough to wear on the football field. Moxy takes physiologic monitoring out of the lab and into the real world of sports.
